Submit a Video Abstract
Ocean 180 encourages ocean scientists to share their discoveries and excitement for research with teachers, students, and the public. The program challenges scientists to create 3 minute video abstracts that effectively communicate the meaning, significance, and relevance of published research to general, non-scientific audiences.
Winning entries will be awarded a total of $9,000 in cash prizes.
What's included in an Ocean 180 Challenge Entry?
Submissions will be accepted from November 1, 2015 to December 11, 2015 and must include:
1. Video abstract that is a maximum of 180 sec (3 min) in length; and includes the 5-second video "splash" at the start of the entry;
2. 900 character (including spaces; ~150 words) written abstract designed for a general/non-scientific audience that summarizes the results and findings in the published paper;
3. Signed COSEE Florida Multimedia Permission and Use of Copyrighted Material Form (available here.), and
4. Completed online video submission form (available here)
