Education Standards

Anderson21 - CopyFor many teachers, the specific topic in any one Ocean 180 video abstract may not fit perfectly with the curriculum during January and February (when voting takes place). However, use of the video abstracts can be used to meet a number of standards and curriculum needs, exploring science as a career and scientific inquiry while practicing evaluation skills and the use of rubrics.

To help in planning for your year, we would like to share some ways teachers have integrated Ocean 180 with their curriculum in the past. This is not a comprehensive list, but a snapshot of possibilities when considering how you will incorporate Ocean 180 into your classroom. It is important to note that the topics presented in the video abstracts classrooms view will change each year and we will not know the subjects of the videos until early January when the finalists are selected. You can view a PDF version of the list here.
